Abramovich Targets Falcao/Higuain

Heskey or FalcaoAccording to Mundo Deportivo Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has listed Radamel Falcao as his number 1 target and also wants to sign Gonalo Higuain as his back up striker.

The two Madrid-based players are apparently set to replace Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge at Chelsea.

Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia was watching Falcao score his 5 goals last night and apparently discussing his availabilty.

Falcao does have a £48m buy out clause, but Mundo also state that he is intent upon signing for Real Madrid (despite there being a gentleman’s agreement between Real and Atletico Madrid that Real can’t poach Atletico’s players).

As for Higuain, Mundo say he is not content with Mourinho so the chance to move would be a welcome change of scenery.

Poor old Aston Villa. Martin O’Neill turned down the chance to sign Falcao for £7m in 2009, opting to go for the safer bet of Emile Heskey instead.
